Hello to all the coworkers in New York State!  I would like to introduce myself.  I am Theresa Kline from Schenectady, NY.  I am the Grand Regent of New York State.  I am honored to chosen for this position.  I promise I will do my very best to fill the past deputy grand regents shoes.  I know that will be a hard job to do. 

      I would like to remind everyone how important membership, membership retention and harmony are to all the chapters and lodges.   With the holidays upon us our spirits should soaring and this is a good time to remember our members and show the appreciation for their

participation in our lodges and chapters.  Don’t forget to say thank you.   

      At the last convention we were challenged by the lodges to bring in more members than they are.  So let’s show them we can do it.  The pie will be flying.  Guess where the pie lands! 

      If you read the bulletin you notice I spelled out harmony.  I believe harmony is a great tool that we need to use in our chapters and lodges.  Here is my spelling and definition for harmony.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!  HAPPY NEW YEAR! 

      With the new year almost upon us I wanted to share some thoughts with you. 

A new year can mean a new beginning for all.  This is the time of year when our hearts are filled with joy and we are thankful for what we have.

      I know I am grateful for my family, friends and my health.  Can you think of things you are grateful for.  I have always believed that there is always someone worse off than me.

At this time of year I remember that and make sure I give my time or donations to those in need.

Giving either of my time or donations always gives me warm feelings or makes me content with my life.  I feel I balance things out by helping the less fortunate.

      We can’t always give what we want and maybe not much to give but, even a little helps. 

I hope this has given you food for thought and you remember the less fortunate.   

      I look forward to meeting many of you and making new friends over this year that I am Deputy Grand Regent.  So please don’t hesitate to invite me to your chapter or lodges for any occasion.

      I look forward to seeing at the convention in Owego, April 8 -11, 2010.
