SAFE SURFING - Lindenhurst Lodge
This information was recently forwarded regarding community
relations and the Safe Surfing program.
Our lodge has started to set up Internet Safety Training
presentations using the Safe Surfing Program.
There have been 2 presentations, done off site, so far with a few more to be
scheduled.
We are looking forward to setting up a presentation to be held in our Lodge for
the entire Community.
Attached are photos and below is the report of the first 2 presentations.
I will provide the date of the Lodge Community Presentation when it is set.
Thank you,
Paul LaMartina

Subject: Report from Safe Surfing Presentations
Dear Brother Administrator,
I wanted to report on the Safe Surfing presentations that was done recently.
I had contacted the Safe Surfing Organization who had sent me the presentations
on disc. Once the separate presentations were reviewed and
tested, then I started contacting groups to observe the Presentations.
On December 14th, the High School Presentation was done for Venturing Crew 2021.
This crew is comprised of 20 High School and Junior College co-ed students. It
was well received and spurred on several conversations afterwards about how to
better protect themselves from on-line predators.
On January 12th, the Community Presentation was done for the Sagtikos District
Boy Scout Roundtable. This is a meeting of the Boy Scout Leaders of the 40
troops and crews that service the communities of the Town of Babylon and the
Town of Islip. It was held at the West Islip Middle School and we had about 38
leaders in attendance. The Community Presentation is a mix of all of the age
appropriate presentations, 1st Grade, 5th Grade, Middle School and High School.
It was well received and it got the message across. Several leaders did come up
to me afterwards and ask about presentations for their units.
As these come in and get scheduled, I will keep you informed. There are a couple
of photos attached of the presentation at the Roundtable.
It is a great idea to combine this message with the Scouting program as both
organizations are designed to protect and nurture our youth.
Yours in Fraternalism,
Brother Paul LaMartina
