NYSMA Euchre Rules

1. Entry fee is $5.00 and you must be a LOOM or WOTM member to play.

2. Someone deals cards and the first Jack becomes the dealer. The Dealer must offer a cut. All deals must be uniform in groups of 2's or 3's (2-3-3-2) (2-3-2-3) etc.

3. Opponent to the left of dealer may not lead until the dealer discards after picking up card from the kitty.

4. Misdeal: Deal passes to the left if the dealer turns up a card and there are more or less than 4 cards remaining in the kitty. PENALTY - 2 points and $0.25

5. A game will consist of 15 MINUTES. Everyone will START TOGETHER AND FINISH TOGETHER. Keep playing until the starter says to "STOP". If there is a tie at the end of the game, the first to score a point will be considered the winner.

6. Trump CANNOT be made or ordered if person DOES NOT have trump. Left bower is not considered trump until suit is called

7. Any card that is boarded is considered played. If it touches the table you CAN NOT take it back.

8. If a player accidentally plays 2 cards at once, leads out of turn, drops a card, or in any way exposes a card (other than boarding it), it must be placed face up in front of the player on the table and played at the first legal opportunity.

9. If a player RENEGES, opponents receive 2 points. Renege team pays $0.25 each in penalty cup.

10. If player is EUCHRED, opponents receive 2 points. Renege team pays $0.25 each in penalty cup.

11. If player plays a LONE HAND and makes it - 4 points. Opponents pay $0.25 each in penalty cup.

12. If a player plays a lone and DOES NOT make it, but makes 3 tricks or more they will get 1 point and team must put in $0.25 each in penalty cup.

13. If a player plays alone and gets Euchred, opponents get 4 points. Team that attempted pay $0.25 each in penalty cup.

14. If playing a lone hand and either opponent reneges, player team get 4 points. In addition, renege team pays $0.25 each in penalty cup.

15. Losing team pays $0.25 in penalty cup.

16. At the end of the 15 minute game, ALL PLAYERS WILL DRAW A CARD. Winners stay at table. They change partners and team up with player with high card and low card draw that come to their table.

17. In case of disagreement on rulings a committee will make the final decision. Bring all disagreements to the attention of the committee immediately.

18. Fill scorecards out completely. Table numbers and initials are important. Scorecard NOT filled out fully may be considered invalid.

19. Total points determine winners. Games won/lost breaks tie or least amount of penalties.

Players are expected to show good sportsmanship, display Moose Fraternalism and have fun.
